Bifolium (ca. 18 x 22,3 cm), [4] pp., written in blue ink on stationery paper with printed address "Tavistock House. Tavistock Square, London WC".
Kept in a blue leather portfolio, with loosely inserted typed transcript. In good condition.
Nice letter from Ch. Dickens (1812-1870) to the architect and landscape gardener Sir Joseph Paxton (1803-1865), designer of the Crystal Palace in London, built to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. In reply to a letter from Paxton, received 3 December. Dickens describes what happened on a dinner in Coventry that Paxton was unable to attend to.
