Impressive poster for a Böcklin anniversary exhibition by the Swiss symbolist artist and designer Sandreuter (1850-1901). He was a close friend of Arnold Böcklin (1827-1901), a compatriot and a symbolist painter, influenced by Romanticism. His imagery derived from mythology (here a Centaur) and legend often overlapped with the aesthetic of the Pre-Raphaelites (Wikipedia).
