8vo: [20]-li [= cccli]-[1] ff. (light dampstaining in upper bl. margin of last ff., title sl. browning, some contemp. ms. annot.).
Old calf, covers ruled with a blind-st. triple fillet, spine with raised bands (skillfully repaired). Good copy.
Reprint of the Paris 1521 augmented edition of the history of French kings, from legendary Pharamond to Louis XII, by the French humanist Gaguin (1433-1501). It is famous for having given the young Erasmus the opportunity to appear in print for the 1st time as "Herasmus Rotterodammus" (1497). Large marks of Galliot du Pré on title and Vidoue on last f., woodcut initials. Shared edition with Jean Petit and Gilles Gourmont (some copies bear their mark on title).
