Hondius, 1631, 38,2 x 51 cm, old border col. (faint fold near c'fold, sl. soiled margins). Good copy.
A striking and finely engr. map of Europe, with attractive baroque title and dedication cartouche to Louis XIII, oriented with the north to the left. Nicely embellished with large sailing vessels, lions in Northern Africa and polar bears inthe North. French text on verso.
