Contemp. blind-stamped vellum, spine with 5 raised bands, red leather title label, sp. edges (front joint rubbed). Good copy.
Independent part of the Dutch translation of "Modern history" by Thomas Salmon (1679-1767), a monumental collection amounting to 43 vol. (1729-1803). Engr. ill.: front. by J.C. Philips, 4 folding maps (XVII Provinces, Namen-Luxemburg, Brabant and Flanders-Artois-Hainaut), 7 city plans (Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges, Ostend, Ypres and Lille), 3 views (Charleroi, Gelder and Scherpenheuvel) and 1 portrait of the Grand Duchess of Austria, Maria Elisabeth. There is another 1738 issue with 548 pp. and an added city plan of Tournai. Our copy is the issue with 7 plans and with pagination to p. 562, with H1, O1, X1, 2D1 and 2L1 omitted, cf. STCN.
