4to: engr. title-210-[1] pp. (some spotting and browning throughout, some dampstaining on some margins, tiny wormtracks in first lvs not touching the text).
Contemp. half calf (corners and covers used), spine with 5 raised bands (head, tail and some bands def.), red edges.
First edition of this Amsterdam pharmacopeia with engr. title by Reinier Vinkeles. This is the last edition (the first since the "Pharmacopoea Amstelaedamensis renovata" in 1726) and published by the same printer. The "Pharmacopoea Amstelodamensis" first appeared in 1636 on the initiative of the well-known professor Nicolaes Tulp. Signed on verso **3 by N.l. Burmannus, part of the large body of experienced medical doctors who complied the pharmacopeia. Errata leaf at the end.
