18th-c. mottled calf, gilt spine with 5 raised bands, marbled edges (sl. rubbed). Good copy.

Rare first edition by Petrus Scriverius (1576-1660) of the collected Latin verses of the famous love poet Janus Secundus (1511-1536). Engr. medal on title (the poet’s beloved Julia); engr. portrait of Secundus on *8v. Printed in italics.
