Contemp. limp overl. vellum, flat spine titled in ink (some def. at edges, ties gone). Very good copy.
Only ed. of a treatise on writing, alphabets etc. by the Flemish Jesuit H. Hugo (1588-1629), one of the 1st works on the subject. Full-page engraving (p. 83) showing the directions of writing. Sm. woodcut ill. of a "stylus" (on p. 85). Woodcut Jesuit device on title.
