Engraving, 24,2 x 18,4 cm, laid paper, wide margins, monogrammed and dated in plate "AV" 1533. With publ. address "Ant. Sal. exc." (some foxing).
Jupiter's wife Juno was jealous of Hercules, and when he was still an infant she sent two snakes to kill him in his crib. Hercules was found prattling delighted baby talk, a strangled serpent in each hand. Slightly flat and later impression from worn plate.
