Compilation of two series and 3 sm. landscapes of Bohemia engraved by Pauline zu Schwarzenberg (1774 - 1810), daughter of Louis-Engelbert of Arenberg.
1. "Seize vues des terres en Bohême du Prince de Schwarzenberg [...]", dated 1804. The title follows the 16 views, all numbered and mostly signed "P.S." - 2. 14 (of 15) engr. from her second series "IIe Cahier des vues de Bohême PS 1805". Without the title and the view of Mischenez. - 3. (in between the pl. of the 2nd serie): 3 sm. landscapes with persons, one entitled: "la princesse de Lobkowitz, née pr. de Schwarzenberg", another dated 1806.
This volume is a personal gift to Baron Guillaume-Antoine (?) de Feltz (1744-1820), and includes 2 autograph letters addressed to him by Pauline zu Schwarzenberg (dated 1804). In 1794 Pauline married Josef zu Schwarzenberg and became a pupil of the Schwarzenberg court painter Ferdinand Runk. She died at the young age of 36, pregnant with her 9th child, on 1 July 1810, during the fire at the Schwarzenberg Ball. It was her brother-in-law, the Austrian ambassador Karl Prince von Schwarzenberg, who organised the event in the Austrian embassy in Paris on the occasion of the marriage of Napoleon and Marie Louise. When the fire broke out, the poorly equipped firemen of Paris were not able to prevent a disaster: besides Pauline's immediate death, a dozen other guests died later from their burns. Napoleon himself wrote a report of the event and issued a decree whereby firemen gained the status of a military force, a battalion of "sapeur-pompiers".
