Contemp. limp vellum (loosening, wrinkled, some dam.).
Rare edition of Erasmus' pioneering translations of Euripides' plays (1st 1506), with a dedication to William Warham (1450-1532; Allen 188). Here issued together with the 1st ed. of the "Medea" translation by the Scottish humanist Buchanan (1506-1582), who at that time was teaching at Bordeaux. Montaigne later recalls having played a role when he was a young pupil there. Printed in italics. With part titles.
