53 woodcuts printed in olive green (some repeat). English version of this classical novel in George Thornley's translation of 1657, revised and augmented, with the same illustrations as in the French version. Edition limited to 250 numb. copies on hand-made paper manufactured by an old process rediscovered by Maillol. Unumb. copy dedicated to Jussiant by Ph. Gonin and signed by Maillol at the end, with an extra b/w suite on white laid paper (some pl. sl. fox.) and an extra suite of 11 "épreuves rares" (rare proofs) i.e. impression before trimming of the woodblocks. This edition is rarer than the French version, printed in 500 copies.
