First edition of this rare monograph on fetal life and its development by the French anatomist and physician D. Tauvry (1669-1701). He gives an anatomical description of the female reproductive apparatus, compares different embryos in the animal world and makes a detailed analysis of the fetus's nutrition, discussing the opinions of different authors; the second part corresponds to the reply to the answers of Méry.
