Second edition illustrated with 1 chromolithographed title and 15 chromolithographs figuring costumes from Aal in Hallingdal, Surendalen, Saelbo, Laplanders in summer and winter dress, etc. Accompanied with legends and explanatory texts in Norwegian, German and English. The first edition of 1851-1852 contained 33 plates. Tönsberg (1813-1897), one of the larger Norwegian publishers, is best known for his illustrated books on the country.
