Contemp. overl. vellum, flat spine titled in ink (sl. soiled), remains of ties, blue edges. Good copy.

Enlarged edition of this very popular an important apologetic work (1st 1627) by H. Grotius (1583-1645), which was originally a long Dutch poem that he wrote while in prison at Castle Loevestein. Woodcut printer's mark on titles.
