Lipsius treatise on politics, his views of government and on a unique state religion (1st ed.: 1589). He was severely attacked by the Dutch philosopher and theologian Dirck Coornhert on the unique religion argument. His response to the philosopher "De una religione liber" follows, as usual, in this copy. Plantin's marks on titles (the 1st copper-engr.).
