2 vol., folio: [40, front. incl.]-731-[7], [4]-666-[112] pp.; 1 pl. (sl. foxing, a few ff. sl. browned, cancel on p. 1 of vol. II).
Contemp. gold-tooled vellum, covers with large central gilt arms within double gilt ruled border (one with armorial corner pieces), gilt spines with raised bands and arms in each panel, red sprinkled edges, green ties.
Important edition with parallel text Greek-Latin. The Greek text is edited by Peter Wesseling and the translation is by Laurentius Rhodomanus with annotations by Henri Estienne, Fulvio Orsini, Henri Valois... "The splendour and critical excellence of all former editions, says Harles, are eclipsed by this of Peter Wesseling [...]" (cfr Dibdin). Illustrated with an allegorical frontispiece, a portrait of Wesseling by J. Tanjé and 2 different title vignettes. Red & black titles.
