Etching and aquatint, 44,3 x 63 cm, laid paper, signed in lower left margin (foxing).
Stuck under passe-partout, under orn. gilt frame (not studied under passe-partout).
Members of the Paris beau-monde are gathered together in a park at the eve of the Revolution. They are joking, talking and flirting. Some well-known figures of the French nobility are portrayed, such as the Duke of Chartres (the future King Louis XVIII), who blows a kiss to the woman standing behind him.
