Folio: [32]-430-[26] pp. (dampstain at top, some minor spotting, ff. I3-4 (genealogical table) mounted, sm. hole in Ggg, pl. H2 upside down).
Contemp. calf, spine with 6 raised bands, mod. green leather title label, red sp. edges (rebacked, some rep., corners bumped). Good, wide-margined copy.
Extensive treatise by the learned monk (of Dunes abbey) Caramuel (1606-1682) on the Spanish claims to the succession in Portugal and the legitimacy of Philip IV as King of Portugal. Engr. ill.: title by I. Neeffs after E. Quellinus, coat of arms, allegorical illustration "Lusitania" and 25 portraits of the princes of Portugal by Corn. Galle. Woodcut initials and endpieces.
