First edition (2nd: Augsburg 1788-91) of the 1st study and bibliography of early printing at Augsburg. The study (part I) is the work of the Augsburg bookseller F.A. Veith (1731-1796) who later published the "Bibliotheca Augustana" (1785-1796). G.W. Zapf (1747-1810) compiled the Augsburg bibliography 1466-1530, describing many incunables in the Buxheim monastic library and in Augsburg private collections. There are 2 useful additions: a list of books printed in Venice by the Augsburg printer Erhard Ratdolt, and a list of books printed by the Velser firm 1594-1614. Engr. facs. and woodcut ill. in text. 1 folding table.
