Rare newsprint featuring the Siege of Arras (1640), a battle of the Thirty Years' War between French and Spanish forces in France, at which also Cyrano de Bergerac participated. The siege plan with letterpress print below, entitled "Spaensche hooghmoet gestraft", alludes to the expression engraved by the Spanish on the gate of Baudimont: "Quand les rats prendronts les chatz, les Francois prendront Arras." The publisher used a French copy printed in Rouen as source.
