Second ed. (1st: 1832). Complete copy of the 14 hand-coloured lithograph pls. (incl. n. 2bis), each with an unnumbered leaf and descriptive text, showing ligature techniques in various parts of the body, executed by Nicolas Henri Jacob (1782-1871) who partly illustrated the famous Bourgery's "Traité d'anatomie". Manec (1799-1884) was a surgeon at the Parisian hospital La Salpêtrière and worked in the anatomy department at the Faculty of Medicine in Paris. Ref. Wellcome IV:41.bumbed
