19th-c. vellum, flat spine with gilt leather label, marbl. endpapers. Very good copy.
Rare Latin version (1st 1478) of the Greek didactic poem (some 3500 ll.) on fishing by Oppian (Cilicia 2nd C.). With additional verses by the Italian humanist translator Lorenzo Lippi from Colle di Val d’Elsa (1440-1485), as well as Pliny’s chapters on fish, and a similar work by Paolo Giovio (1483-1552).
