Description du lot
Folio: 39 lvs.; 5 lith.
Loose. Blue cloth case, titled with white on the upper board.
Van Hoeydonck (Antwerp 1925-) is the first (and only?) artist whose work was deposited on the moon (Apollo 15 mission, 1971) in homage to the astronauts who have died on missions to conquer space. The work consists of original or reproduced compositions, texts by the French critic Restany and interviews by van Jole: half title, title, 9 interviews-texts preceded by diagrams on grid paper illustrating the artist's visions on spatial colonisation (towns, media, mutants, the myth of Icarus, bio-cyborgs...), a psychological profile of the artist (in French, English, Dutch), 9 reprod. of works of art, 5 lvs. of biography, 1 lv. explaining the edition: 1/40 (n. 77), on 99 copies signed by the artist and authors, accompanied by a set of 5 bleed-off coloured lithographs on Arches paper, signed and numb. by Van Hoeydonck.
