Folio: [306] ff., 44 ll. (some marg. dampstaining, bottom of A2 torn off and underlaid with loss of some words, tear in bottom margin of a number of ff., bottom margin of E2 torn off and underlaid).
18th-c. half vellum, marbl. paper boards, flat spine with gilt label, red edges (sm. hole in spine). Very good copy.
Early ed. (1st 1475) of a large collection of sermons for the liturgical year preached by the founder of the Cistercian Order, Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153). Printed in gothic type, in 2 cols. Rubricated throughout in red and blue, initials occ. with penwork extending into the inner margin. On A2r an 8-line initial in blue, crimson and pink with gilt dots; on CC1r a 7-line initial in green and crimson with gilt dots and penwork. Ref.
