Contemp. quarter green shagreen, marbled paper boards, spine with raised bands (spine sl. rubbed, corners sl. bumped).

First series, illustrated (complete for this part) with 40 large, hand-coloured plates, lithographed by the botanical illustrators Walter Hood Fitch (1817-1892) and James Andrews (1801-1876). Mostly known for "The Orchid Album", Warner collaborated with Williams on this fine botanical work which proved so successful that the second series followed swiftly.
