Contemp. richly gold-tooled morocco, covers with large armorial centre-piece and elaborate orn. pieces within a gilt border, richly gilt flat spine, a.e.g. (sm. def. at corners and at front tail joint, central arms sl. cut into). Very good copy.
Extremely rare Lyon reprint of "De particulis Latinae locutionis" (Rome 1598) of the Italian Jesuit O. Torsellini (1544-1589). Woodcut mark on title.

Prov. Gilt central arms with surrounding inscription: "Ex dono Claudi Tisserand Prioris S. Petri Cabilon", i.e. Claude Tisserand de Chalange, "grand prieur et vicaire général de l’abbaye bénédictine de Saint-Pierre de Chalon-sur-Saône" and date 1635. - Two arm. bookpl., i.a. Gilbert Mainssonat (also with ms. mention at top f. 2r).
