Contemp. calf, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands, sp. edges (corners, sides, head and tail restored).

Second ed. of the French translation of this mission to China by the Portuguese Jesuit priest Semedo (1585-1586). Ill. with an engr. vign. on title by N. Auroux. The first part is based on Semedo's personal observations and the second part is based on Martino Martini's "De Bello Tartarico Historia" (1654).
