First edition of the translation (1st German 1698) of this work written by Brand, secretary to E. Isbrand (1657-1708), Danish traveller and diplomat. This story, along with Isbrand's, are the only ones written by people involved in the commercial embassy sent to Beijing by Peter the Great. Illustrated with a frontispiece and a fold. map.
