Black ink, graphite, c. 16,8 x 12,3 cm (visible), wove paper, ink signed and identified (few sm. spots on most drawings).

By the Belgian caricaturist and artist Canneel (1881-1953): Paul Colin, founder of the weekly "Cassandre" and director of the "Nouveau Journal" is executed on 14 April 1943 by "armed partisans" Arnaud Fraiteur, André Bertulot and Maurice Raskin, all hanged by the occupier; Colin's widow and Mrs Gheys, Colin's secretary; Robert Poulet, founder of the daily "Le Nouveau Journal", is sentenced to death in October 1945 by the Belgian justice; Raymond De Becker, editor and director of the journal le Soir from 1941 (this newspaper will be called "Le Soir volé" under the occupation). He is condamned in 1946 and then pardoned in 1951; Wilhem Schraenen, director-commissioner of le Soir and Agence Rossel; Victor Matthys, leader of the Rexist Party and instigator of the Courcelles massacre, he is executed in 1947 for collaborationism; Louis Collard, journalist and leader with Matthys of the Rexist Party during Degrelle's absence, is also executed for collaborationism in 1947, etc.
