First edition of one of the earliest treatises on "garden flowers" by the Flemish physician and botanist Dodoens (1517-1585), describing ornamental and fragrant plants and flowers, many of which were recently introduced from Asia Minor, bulbous in particular, transforming European gardens. Ill. with 86 woodcuts in-text representing plants, designed by the great Flemish artist Peter Van der Borcht (1535/40-1608).
