Contemp. mottled sheep, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands (old ms. ann. on front flyleave, joints and boards sl. rubbed, lower corners rather heavily bumped).

Reissue of the 2nd ed. by R. & G. Wetstein (1713) of this important handbook on painting, based on lectures by G. de Lairesse (1640-1711), compiled by his son. Ill. with a front., engr. by C. Huybrechts after Ph. Tiedeman, 8 engr. pl., 1 mezzotint and some in-text ill.
