Large-format commonplace book in Dutch (and occ. also in French), for the greater part containing a chronicle history of the world, but also verses, riddles, models of letters, mathematical questions etc.

Folio, c. 31 x 18,5 cm: [195] ff. incl. some blanks, on paper (a few stains, some corners torn off with sm. loss of text).

Contemp. gilt quarter leather, marbled paper on covers, spine with raised bands and morocco label (covers rubbed at bottom edge). In good condition.

Loosely inserted: 1. Coloured drawing (paper, c. 20 x 15 cm) of a soldier in uniform. - 2. Quire of [8] ff. with Dutch riddles in ms. (numbered 229-278). - 3. Ms. leaf with French rules of a card game (?). - 4. Large f. with mathematical exercises.
