Plutarch was not aiming at providing a historical account of these famous individuals but rather seeking to describe the type of person they were and how they lived. He focuses on Alexander the Great, Romulus and Remus, Demosthenes, Cicero, Brutus, Julius Caesar, etc. Large woodcut mark on title and part-title. General title printed in red and black.
