Very rare first edition of this work by the French author and politician J.N. Démeunier (1751-1814). The 4th part is titled "Supplément ou Suite aux remarques [...] sur la constitution et les états de Nouvelle-Yorck et Virginie" (1791). Important publication, as it was published as a separate volume of Démeunier's contributions on America to Panckoucke's "Encyclopédie méthodique", which had been corrected and debated in correspondence with Thomas Jefferson.
