Mounted on stubs and bound in 1 vol., 19th-c. half green leather, double gilt rule on green cloth covers (sl. rubbed), flat spine titled "Ruines de Bruxelles" (sl. rubbed).
Perspectives des ruines de la ville de Bruxelles designées au naturel [...]. [Brussels], 1695. Suite of 12 engr., +/- 20 x 26 cm, laid paper 29 x 35 cm (1 pl. shorter, vertical central fold on title, lower right corner of title missing and roughly repaired, paper sl. brown. and fox., some marg. defects, tears and worm tracks). Complete suite including title and 11 pl. engraved by Coppens (title and 5 pl.) or Richard Van Orley (6 pl.) after drawings by Coppens (1668-1740), representing the ruins of Brussels after the bombardment of the city by the French troops of Maréchal de Villeroy in August 1695. Comme aussi les ruines de la tour du Miroir & maisons des orfèvres, tombées le 7 novembre 1696. Déssignée au naturel par Augustin Coppens et gravées à l'eau-forte par Jean Laur. Kraft.
