Later (Italian ?) half vellum, marbled paper on covers, spine with leather labels.

Second edition (1st 1574) of this work on the Ancient funeral rites by the humanist and cartographer Porcacchi (1530-1585). Presented in the form of a dialogue between Vespasiano da Soncino and Cesare Locatelli d'Alzano discussing the engraved plates. Nicely illustrated with 23 copper engravings in the text by Girolamo Porro. Title within an architectural engr. border. Galignani's tower device at colophon. Ref.
