Black and white chalk, 36,0 x 27,5 cm, grey wove paper, signed, titled and dated "Peter Spaan / WvK 1915" (sl. discoloured on edges).
Mounted on passe-partout.
Beautiful portrait of the musician and author Peter Spaan (1882-1948), a notorious figure in artistic circles in The Hague. Willem van Konijnenburg (1868-1943) also painted his portrait in 1917 (The Hague, Kunstmuseum, inv. 0335057).
