Large copy of the "Theatrum biblicum", the highly influential picture Bible originially published as the "Thesaurus" in Antwerp by Gerard de Jode (c. 1516-1591) in 1579 (Old Testament only) and 1585 (New Testament added). 2nd Amsterdam ed. (of 6) and 7th ed. overall (of 11), published by Claes Jansz. Visscher (c. 1586-1652). The extraordinary ensemble provides a large overview of the Dutch and Flemish artists working in printmaking in the late 16th and early 17th c.
