Contemp. vellum, blind-stamped boards, ink-titled spines with raised bands (sl. soiled, joints partly split, turn-in of vol. 2 loosening, corners bumped).

Extensive encyclopaedical study (1st 1690) of Jewish (Biblical) life and times, and of the Ancient Near East (incl. Egypt): language, printing history of the Bible, Kaballah, daily life. Engr. ill.: 2 front. by G.v. Gouwen after W. Goeree & P. Tideman, 86 engr. plates (of which 28 folding or double-page) incl. an engr. map and 35 (30, 5) ill. in-text.
