Wood engraving on 1 f., 38 x 31 cm, laid paper with watermark of Bonne-Espérance in Hainaut, uncoloured (browned, sheet cut at centre, marg. tears with min. loss on one card).
Complete sheet with the name of the engraver L. Le Carpentier which appears on jacks figures, in all letters or with initials "L.L.C." in the shield. H.R. D'Allemagne lists 7 playing card makers with this name in Rouen in the 17th-18th c., but no one with the initial "L.". Enriched with a large photography of the watermark.
