Folio: [385 (of 687)]-[1 blank]-[95] ff. (missing 2 ff. in the first quire (following STCV who states that the 1st quire + has 4 ff.), upper margin title underl., sm. hole in title, edges of 1st ff. frayed, dampstaining and staining, holes in last ff. touching the text).
Contemp. blind-st. calf over wood, spine with raised bands, cornerpieces, traces of clasps and catches (scratches on front cover).
Rare Antwerp edition of the Dutch Catholic Bible trsl. by the Leuven monk N. van Winghe (1st 1548), reprinted from the Leuven 1553 ed. (Bbb7v). Title in red & black within woodcut borders. Numerous woodcuts: for the Old Testament copied after Holbein’s ill. (1st printed Lyon 1538) and for the New Testament by various Antwerp artists (some signed with initials of Arnold Nicolai). Printed in Gothic type, in 2 col.
