Folio: 6-182-[13] pp. (soiling on ff. c3, h2 and o4, marg. o4 and part of text p4 untidily restored, upper corner last f. missing, some ink corrosion and spotting throughout).

Mod. marbled paper, flat spine (parts of spine missing, corners bumped, rubbed).

First edition of a history on the reign of French Renaissance king Francis I (1494-1547) by the humanist historian Paradin (c. 1510-1590). Title within the elaborate de Tournes "Midas" woodcut border, with woodcut initials and endpieces.
