19th-c. polished sheep, marbled paper boards, spine with raised bands (joints starting to split, joints rubbed, corners bumped).
Curious collection of ballads and songs of his own and of others, compiled by Ramsay (1686-1758), Scottish poet (or "Makar") who revived interest in vernacular literature. With a glossary at the end.
