Very large wall map (on 4 sheets), incl. the separate decorative borders with its historical vignettes (on 8 sheets). The map figures the America’s in great detail and parts of Europe, Africa and the South Indies on a curved projection at the outer right side. Ornated with a very large title cartouche and a vignette with 5 scale bars surrounded by Natives and European missionaries and colonists; many ships and sea monsters in the oceans. The borders contain an extensive historical and geographical description of America and 30 detailed historical scenes with text. With a dedication to Louis XVI, added by Crepy who bought some plates of Nolin.
