Engraving, 53,0 x 38,9 cm, laid paper with watermark (crowned shield with fleur-de-lys), signed "L. Visscher sculp.", Dutch and Latin text (few sm. stains, traces of former mount on verso).
Large portrait of the lawyer Johan de Witt (1625-1672), grand pensionary of Holland. A very similar painting is in Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum, inv. SK-A-13). 2nd state before the plate was reworked.
