For this poster advertising his solo exhibition at the Salon des Cent, Mucha chose to depict a woman with distinctly Slavonic features wearing a Moravian bonnet and a wreath of daisies. She holds up a panel with a heart encircled by three decorative garlands. Composed of daisies, thorns and fruits, this motif symbolises the complexity of life.
