First edition of the first complete treatise on acupuncture, edited by the pharmacist J.-L. Soubeiran (1827-1892). The first chapter is mainly about the pulse and pulse diagnosis; last chapter deals with vetinerary diseases. Illustrated with a fold. plate showing the meridian system. Dabry de Thiersant (1826-1898) was Consul of France in China from 1857 to 1871. He had some books on Chinese medecine translated that were unknown in France to write his own book.
