19th-c. crimson morocco by Masson-Debonnelle (act. 1867-1885), covers with gilt central ornament, gilt spine on 5 raised bands, gilt sides, richly gilt inside dentelles, a.e.g., marbl. endpapers, cloth marker (sl. rubbed, top corners sl. bumped). Very nice well-preserved copy.

One of the rarer editions of the popular history of the reign of Louis XI of France (1423-1483). This is a repr. of the Paris 1525 ed. (omitting the marginalia). Title in red and black, within elaborate woodcut border ("heart" symbol hand-coloured red). Full-page woodcut on verso of title. Printed in gothic type. Ref. Bibl. Belg.
