Ad hoc red leather album (bookbinders label Van Campenhout F.s & S.r) with percaline gilt-titled boards, flat spine.
Incl. photos by James Anderson, born Isaac Atkinson (1813-1877), the most extensive producer of photographs in Rome. He specialized in reproductions of works of art, but also photographed views of Italy and antiquities. This album is a perfect illustration of the work of Anderson showing work in all his domains. Others are by Giacomo Brogi (1822-1881), an Italian photographer opening a studio in Florence in 1864 under his own name "Maison Giacomo Brogi" passing his business to his son Carlo Brogi (1850-1925) who continued after his father's death under the trade mark "Edizioni Brogi Firenze". A couple of photos by Robert Rive (1817-1868), mostly active in Pompei and Rome.
